How the Rotman video interview works
Rotman describes its Full-Time MBA admissions interview stage as a recorded video interview. Selected candidates are invited to complete it; it is not a video submission required of every applicant. The interview consists of three questions, covering themes such as career goals, teamwork, leadership, resilience, innovation and conflict resolution. An invitation to interview does not guarantee an offer of admission.
A recent Full-Time MBA applicant reported 30 seconds of preparation before each 90-second response. Because Rotman's public Full-Time MBA page does not currently publish the preparation timer, we use 30/90 as a reported practice setting, not an official guarantee. Follow the timing shown in your own assessment.

HOW TO PREPARE
Practice the skill, not a script
Know your examples
Review the experiences, decisions and goals behind your application so useful examples come to mind quickly. Do not memorize complete answers.
Give the answer a simple structure
Make your main point early, support it with a concrete example or reason, and finish with a clear takeaway. STAR can help with behavioral questions, but do not force every response into the same formula.
Make the timing feel familiar
Practice enough to understand what the response window feels like. Aim to finish naturally rather than racing to fill every second.
Review delivery as well as content
Look into the camera, stay composed and speak conversationally. If you record yourself, focus on one or two useful adjustments rather than trying to make every attempt perfect.

Common questions about the Rotman video assessment
Should I memorize answers?
No. The useful preparation is becoming comfortable organizing your thoughts quickly and speaking naturally under the format's constraints.
Are these real admissions questions?
Where the school publicly provides a prompt, we identify it clearly. Other simulator questions are original practice questions designed around realistic MBA interview themes; they are not presented as leaked or predicted questions.
Does this practice tool upload my recording?
No. Recording is optional, and any recording remains locally on your device. My Video Interview Prep does not upload your camera or microphone recording to us.
